Now I'm going to show you a technique that will allow you to take the normal liability of a room with all white walls like this and turn it into an asset. Now, normally, I'd walk into a room like this with white walls and I would run in the opposite direction. However, I'm going to show you a technique that I like to call a Poor Man's Psych Effect that works great for video and actually, could work to your benefit. If you don't know what a psych is, a psych is a special type of studio environment where the walls meet the floor, there's normally a corner, but instead of having a corner where the walls meet the floor, there's a smooth curve right here. What happens is when you light that space behind the subject, in the deep space it creates an infinity effect so you have no sense of depth. You just have the subject sitting there in pure white.
