Rich: When it comes time to record audio interviews, the good news is, is that one person can often easily do the job and fill all the roles. You're going to need some gear and you're going to need the right technique but let's start with the gear side to begin with. First off, you're going to need some sort of audio recorder in order to tell the story and this will be where you actually record the material. Now, in some cases, it may be your laptop, and the laptop or your desktop computer is going to serve as your digital-audio workstation. This is particularly true if you're using something like Skype as a way to connect and record. If not, you might want something like this. This is a Zoom H4N, but there's lots of these devices out there on the market. And it gives you a recording studio in a size that can fit into a loose pocket, the good news is that is has professional inputs, as well as some built in mics, and this makes it really simple to go ahead and record those interviews.…
