How to minimize narration
Rich: We've mentioned the importance of really trying to minimize narration. For me as a story teller, I want to hear and tell the story with the people's voice, not my voice, not a generic narrator. Now the narrator of course has a place, there are lots of great narrators out there. But what's so important bout minimizing narration. For your storytelling approach. Amy: Well, I think it's important, because you really want, as you said, the voice of the speakers to come out. And you want the audience to relate to them much more directly and intimately. And so, a narrator kind of brings a third person into the room that you really don't want to have there. That said, if you're not going to have a narrator, then some of the heavy lifting of setting the stage for a scene is going to actually be played by your character. So you need to brief them, before you start as to some of the things you need their help with. For example, incorporating your question into their answer. So I might say,…
