Now my preference for shooting running, gun work is almost always going to be on a zoom, but I want to quickly talk about running gun shooting with prime lenses. The potential problem of shooting with prime lenses for fast-paced subject matter is that you're limited to a single fixed focal lens. So, if you're shooting something where you need to capture a variety of images or the action is just unpredictable, fast moving, or under a variety of different lighting conditions, shooting on a fixed focal length prime lens could be a potential liability. Specifically, I'm talking about things like documentaries, weddings, or sporting events. Now, I say a prime lens can sometimes be a liability in these situations because you could easily end up with the same boring shot advantage point of the scene every time, especially if your camera has to stay planted. So ,subjects who stand or move further away from your shot could become teeny weeny and lost in the frame on wider lenses. And…
