- Let's be real. Anybody could make a film now. And sometimes it seems like anybody is making films these days. And many leave a lot of room for improvement. That's what I wanna talk about today on pro video tips. I think too many filmmakers are under the impression that merely having the best film making tools will make them a good filmmaker. Let me clear that up right now. It doesn't. Making good films makes you a good filmmaker. And if you wanna make good films, the number one thing you wanna try to always infuse into your productions, beyond a good story, is good production value. And production value, of course, is just a fancy way of saying film making professionalism. Does your project look, feel and sound polished and professional? The term production value just seems adding as many elements as possible that are the hallmark of careful attention to story telling detail.
