Tips for renting equipment
- As you grow as a filmmaker and start to take on bigger and more complex projects, expand your storytelling palette, and shoot outside of your local area, chances are that you'll find yourself needing to rent some additional equipment. While this isn't usually that difficult to process, there are definitely a few things you want to be aware of as an uninitiated filmmaker, to make the process of renting, and your shoot, go smoother and stay within budget. So this week on Pro Video Tips, I'm just gonna share with you seven quick tips for renting equipment. Starting off with: When should you rent? My first tip would be to figure out whether or not it even makes sense for you to rent equipment versus buying it. If you're shooting a documentary or other project with an unpredictable shooting schedule, over a period of a year and a half, it probably makes more sense to just buy a camera package.
