- So as we've discussed already, shooting solo is already fraught with plenty of new challenges, but we're indie filmmakers, so clearly we're gluttons for punishment or else we would've done something sane like be a lawyer or nurse. So now I want to tell you how you can not only pull off a solo interview, but also up the production value of your solo interview, and make editing considerably easier by shooting with two cameras rolling simultaneously on the action. Now to pull of this feat solo, it's best to place the two cameras as close as possible, with your main camera set on a medium or wide shot, and the second camera set on a closer shot. As long as you keep one camera on a more conservative safety shot, you can pretty much get whatever shot you want with the second camera. Or if you're really feeling yourself, you can even periodically pause the interview and change the second camera angle completely between questions.
