Your role during an interview
Male 1: During an interview, you essentially have four roles to fulfill, and if you skimp on any one of them, you're going to see a hit in performance. Female 1: It's true, and I think probably the very first role I'd say would be coach. You're really trying to draw out a great performance from someone who potentially is not a professional at being on camera. Male 1: And the next one is that of a cheerleader. And the cheerleader's job is very important. You're there to make sure that the person feels confident. You're encouraging them, you are rallying them to the cause. You're helping them really focus their energy. One thing that cheerleaders do is they bring out the best performances in people. And it needs to feel genuine, and the person really needs to feel like you're on their side. Female 1: I think as an ancillary to the cheerleader role is you kind of want to be a fan.
