- [Narrator] There is one question I get quite often from more advanced users, particularly those who are writing jazz charts, about Sibelius's chord symbol engine sometimes rejecting a chord that they need to input into their chart. Chord rejection, in chord symbol mode, looks a a little bit like this. I'm going to go ahead and go down to this violin part and zoom in for you, Control or Command + k, and I'm going to type D flat add nine flat thirteen, expecting it to format that and I press spacebar, and it turns it red, and will not format it. So this is Sibelius's way of saying that it does not recognize the chord symbol, and it's not going to help you, and I assure trying again will not make any difference. And this can lead to quite a bit of frustration, digging through the reference guide and online help topics, all for the sake of just formatting a chord symbol.
