Creating and extending hairpins

- [Instructor] A hairpin is the Sibelius term for a crescendo or decrescendo line. Hairpins always appear below a staff, except in vocal staves, where they appear above and out of the way of the lyrics. Thankfully, inputting and editing hairpins in Sibelius is as simple as inputting and editing slurs. To input a hairpin, we're going to select a note where we want the crescendo line to begin so I'm going to select something over here, and I'm going to zoom in for you a little bit here. (note sounds) All right, so I've selected a note and we're going to press the letter h for hairpin, which begins a crescendo line for us. Sibelius will input the beginning of the crescendo for us, and notice the appearance of the crescendo line immediately after you input it. There will be a blue handle selected on the right or the open end of that line. You probably already know what to do next, use the spacebar to extend the crescendo to…
