Elaborating on the chorus
- [Instructor] The chorus is the most essential part of a song. Since it's typically the section the listener is the most invested in, there's an opportunity to get extra mileage out of it. A great way to do this is by elaborating on your chorus. We see this happen in songs after the chorus has been sung at least once before and usually during the final chorus of a song. It gives the listener an exciting variation on the part of the song they know best. Some great examples of songs that elaborate on their final chorus are Lionel Richie and Diana Ross's "Endless Love," The Beach Boys, "God Only Knows," and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "You're All I need to Get By." Let me show you how we can create this effect with our tune "Never Get Over You."
