Flexi-time options and latency
- [Instructor] Flexitime Note input is Sibelius's real time midi recording mode. Before you begin using Flexitime you'll need to become familiar with what latency is and how to avoid it in Sibelius and you'll need to be familiar with and working with Flexitime's options to ensure you end up with the best notation. Latency is the difference in time between striking a key on your midi keyboard and hearing the note played back through your speakers or headphones. In Sibelius you're inputted note might notate on the staff in time but it can sound late to your ears. And as you can imagine this can be detrimental to a real time recording. So let's test out our midi keyboards now, click into one of the provided staves to engage the piano sound and then press escape and play a note on your midi keyboard.
