Multiple voices and inputting voice 2

- This lesson will provide you with a brief introduction to inputting and working with a second voice on one staff. Voices are independent lines of music in a staff meaning that they have their own collection of beats, notes and rests assigned to them. When you have two voices in a staff within a 4/4 time signature, for example, you'll have two independent lines of music that co-exist. Each containing four full beats worth of notes and rests that you'll have to manage within a bar. Separate voices do not share stems. Sharing stems simply means that you have one voice that contains an interval or chord. We've seen that and done that already in this course. Multiple voices are different from intervals and chords that reside on the same voice. You can have up to four voices per staff in Sibelius but you'll rarely use more than two.
