Reharmonize a melody: 7th chords

- Now that I've shown you how you can change the feeling of a chord progression by altering the base notes of chords, let's take a look at how we can use dominant 7th chords to work within the existing harmonic framework of our song. So here is our song again, Say That You Will Stay, with the original harmonization of one, five, four, one, or C, G, F, C. ♫ I know you love me ♫ It's something you're afraid to say ♫ So don't say that you love me ♫ Say that you will stay Now I want to show you what happens if we make a simple adjustment to the five chords, or the G chords, in bars two and six. We're going to take each G major chord and turn it into a G dominant 7th chord. This means we will add an F natural to the harmony.
