- [Instructor] When designing with data, we want to make sure that what we've designed is usable by everyone. Since dashboards and data visualizations use a lot of color, we have to be mindful of certain types of common colorblindness. Some segments of our users don't see colors the way we intend. Common types are red green and blue yellow. Red green types are characterized with difficulty seeing differences between red and green. Protanopia and deuteranopia are examples of this. Difficulty between viewing blues and yellows is less common, but characterized by not seeing differences between blue and green and yellow and red. Here's an example of a green text in a red box. It's not easy to read. If you view the same color palette through the lens of someone with protanopia, the text is barely visible. You can also see how close red and green are to each other.
