Components of a flow diagram

- Diagrams can be created in design drawing tools like Sketch, Photoshop, or Illustrator. They can also be created in diagramming and prototyping tools like Axure or Lucidchart. It depends on your workflow and which tool works for you. I use Sketch, because I spend most of my time in Sketch, but it's a personal preference. If you're working on a complex flow, you'll want to have a key to interpret the symbols, and those usually go on the bottom corner of the diagram. When constructing a diagram, you'll want to distinguish if something is new, modified, or existing. If you're working on a complex flow, your diagram might have a mix of existing pages that don't need updating and new pages. If there isn't a distinction, engineers might accidentally remove pages thinking they aren't required, or modify pages that you didn't intend to be modified.
