Consumer experience considerations

- You may have heard the term consumer as it applies to user experience. Designing consumer products means that your products are designed for use by customers directly and not for a business or business users. For example, if we're talking about the webspace, consumer products would include sites like Amazon, eBay, and YouTube. These are sites that mostly cater to consumers who want to buy things and watch content. There's also a business to business aspect to each of these companies, but generally if you go to YouTube.com, you'll be watching video. When designing for consumers, there's a strong focus on product ease of use. While that sounds obvious for a job as a UX designer, that's not always the case in a business to business scenario because when you're designing for how people work, there's complex workflows that aren't present in consumer products.
