Context of use

- [Instructor] Understanding the tasks, conditions, and environment in which the user interacts with your product is referred to context of use. When designing for various platforms, it's critical to understand the context for the how the product is being used. Some ways of thinking about context are through the lens of environmental, behavioral, and systems. Environmental refers to the actual environmental factors that can influence how a product is being used. Behavioral describes the user's activities and tasks. And systems refers to how the product is interrelated to other products in a cohesive system. For example, when ordering a product online, there's a logistics process and a customer service system, all of which need to be taken into account when thinking about how the product fits into the overall ecosystem and product experience.
