Creating a flow map
- When creating a flow map, the goal is to understand and communicate the big picture of the experience. Let's take, for example, that we're looking at the experience of a college student enrolling into a university. Flow maps don't have to have all the details. Our goal is to get a sense of what's next. We're telling the story of the experience at a high level, and we'll eventually get to those details, but it's not required at this stage. I'll walk you through this flow map, showing each step in the process at a high level. So first, students can become aware of the university through either an event, through social media channels, or by going directly to the website itself. Depending on how they've been made aware of the school, we'll likely have different pages for them to track their entry. Now for the enrollment.
