Designing kiosks

- [Instructor] Designing for kiosks like everything else we design follows the same user centered design process. Kiosk interactions are a subset of activities that can be done fairly quickly. The nature of the kiosk design is mostly transactional. What I mean by transactional is that there isn't an expectation that you'll be browsing kiosks for long periods of time. Typically, you'll be looking for something or completing a transaction like getting money from the bank ATM, or checking in at the location you arrived at. Users interact with kiosks in various contexts, that are intended to be self-service. Kiosks are used in hospitals, malls, libraries, and in grocery stores to check out groceries. Kiosks experiences are typically self-guided, and that the user shouldn't need to ask for help on how to use it. Kiosks are similar to touch based interfaces like mobile and tablet.
