- Wearables are smart technology that you can wear. This includes fitness trackers, watches, VR headsets and smart clothing. Both Google and Apple have platforms for watch development. The small screen real estate of a watch is a forcing function to design simple interactions and reduce complexity. So, we need to design around key tasks and use cases based on our user's behavior. The context in which you're user will interact with your app will depend on their activities. Watches are worn on the wrist and touch the body, encouraging lightweight interaction throughout the day. It's also common for the watch to interact with other devices, like TV, mobile, and voice. Both Google Wear and Apple watchOS have design guidelines on how to approach designing for the watch interaction.
