Diagrams in the design process
- In the process of creating design, it's sometimes helpful to create a flow diagram, or map, to better understand the scope of the experience. Depending on your design, you may need to map out different screens for different actions taken, which helps to visualize pages and states to design for in the future state. Let's say that we've been given some requirements for a campaign tool that we have to design against. The requirements are for the marketing team who is our primary user. This tool needs to enable them to create a campaign, schedule a campaign for different dates, view current campaigns, edit campaigns, delete campaigns, and accommodate for different messaging states. With these requirements, there are specific conditions and actions that we can diagram out without knowing exactly what the page will look like.
