Gestalt principles

- When designing the user interface, we rely on Gestalt psychology principles to help us organize information. Gestalt principles help us understand how information is perceived. These basic principles are valuable when thinking about which information you want to highlight and showcase. The most common principles are proximity, similarity, closure, continuity, and connection. Most of these principles are used in various design capacities, including iconography and logo design. The principles that mostly impact user interface design are proximity and similarity. Let's focus on these. The proximity principle highlights how we perceive relationships with objects that are close to each other. Let's take for an example this basic layout.
