- [Instructor] Part of establishing a visual structure and hierarchy to your site, is by creating a layout informed by your users' goals. Good organization relies on a strong information hierarchy. This is related to how we structure our headings and content on the page, to help our user orient themselves and navigate the user interface. Let's take a look at a couple of examples. PubMed is a scientific journals website for citations. In this example, there's a search bar on top but it's difficult to see, because the eye is drawn to the header image of books with text. There's some grouped categories with a series of links, but there isn't a strong call to any grouping in particular. Now let's take a look at this updated version of the site. Now this isn't a one-to-one comparison, because all the content isn't the same, but you can see immediately that the top priority for the site is to perform a search.
