Information scent and hierarchy

- [Instructor] Structure of the product experience refers to the overall information architecture of the site. But as we move from the higher level into page level, we now have to apply the hierarchy and structure to the interface. By starting with our information architecture, we've created our navigation system, so now we just need to reinforce the navigation and wayfinding model through the interface. Users should be able to accurately predict what happens when they select a navigation element. This is referred to as the scent of information. Navigation helps orient the user, and gives cues on how to get from place to place. There's a few navigation models to help orient our users. Global navigation, bread crumbs, vertical navigation, contextual navigation, and pagination. When determining the structure of our interface, we'll start with global navigation.
