Overview of information density
- [Narrator] Visual hierarchy is key to establishing structure for interfaces, including the amount of information on the interface itself. Interfaces high in information density have more information on a screen, which means there's less white space. High information density is useful for particular users and tasks. Let's take a look at two examples. The first is Airbnb. You can see there's a lot white space, and this is designed for browsing through available places to stay. Here's an example of Maya, a 3D modeling animation and rendering software. It's a robust tool that can support tasks like creating 3D models and character rigging. You can see there's a lot more information in a smaller space, by design. There's a lot of information to communicate for users of the system who have focused tasks to complete.
