Role of information architecture
- [Instructor] Information architecture refers to the organization of information and the product experience. Broadly speaking, this is how people find information on your site through mechanisms like search, navigation menus, and bread crumb navigation. This is known as wayfinding. Physical world examples include maps and signage to help you orient where you are. The product experience should help users determine a sense of place so they understand how to get where they need to go. For example, if you've used a mobile app, you may have noticed the tab bar or the hamburger menu. Both of these are examples of how the mobile app is organized into discrete areas so you can find the information you're looking for. In this case, information is an expansive term to include the different ways users might need to know what to do in your experience.
