Typography and legibility

- Content and typography are key for readability and scanability, which we can enhance through thoughtful content design. Typography also helps with establishing hierarchy. Content is used in various contexts including headings, buttons, field labels, help text, table headings, and content blocks. Content needs to be concise and succinct, but we also need to take into account visual usability of the content through typographic application and best practices. For digital experiences, Sans-Serif typefaces are more suitable for screen rendering because of the simplicity of the font. When you place Serif versus Sans-Serif fonts next to each other, you can see the difference in screen legibility as the type gets smaller. When selecting a typeface for your project, it's helpful to select a type that has multiple font weights to give some options and flexibility to establish a visual hierarchy.
