Adding buildings to Revit toposurface
- [Instructor] So now it's time to add the buildings. We're in Chapter 7-05. Now the important thing here is not to bring the buildings straight into the project, but we want to nest them within our generic model. That then allows us to use far clip offsets for section cuts and elevations, otherwise we don't get the option to run a section line through it or an elevation, we'll just see, depending on which elevation we're looking at, we'll see the entire extents of the buildings. We won't be able to chop through it as such, and so it's important that we do nest it in a generic model. To do that, on Architecture tab, we've got the Component option, hit the drop-down, Model in Place. And we'll come down to Generic Models, we'll say OK. And I'll call this Buildings, and then we OK that. And then we go to the Insert tab, and this is where we import our sketch-up file. So sketch-up file Chapter 7-05, Adding Buildings to Revit Toposurface, Auto-Origin to Origin, this is the important bit…
