Basics for using a Mac interface

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at the Macintosh interface for SketchUp. On top, we have some drop-down menus that work just like the majority of other programs on a computer. Click on the title, and more options become available. The SketchUp menu is specific to Mac. The most often used option here is Preferences. This contains a few options, such as if you're going to create a backup file, create custom shortcuts, and choose where your files are being saved to. The File menu is again very similar to other interfaces. This is where we can open, save, and export files. The Edit menu holds the Undo function, as well as Cut, Copy, and Paste. Our View menu contains a list of tool palettes. The most often one used here is the Large Tool Set. Our Draw menu contains some drawing functions, but it is rare to use the drop-down menu to access these, as we will be using the icons below and keyboard shortcuts for efficient modeling.
