Block out a floor plan

- [Instructor] So here we have the foundation of our house and we want to block out the floor plan of the house. Now there's a number of different ways you can do that. One way is to simply snap out a picture of the foot print of the house and simply sketch it in with a pencil or you could do it digitally in something like Photoshop. We're actually gonna use SketchUp. So I'm gonna go back into my perspective view here. And let's start just drawing in some basic outlines of rooms, so we can do this simply with the rectangle tool. Now before I do this I want everything I create to go on it's own separate layer and that way it doesn't mess up the rest of the model. I'm gonna go into my layers window here, just add a layer. And we're gonna call that floor plan. And I'm gonna mark that active so now anything I draw goes into this layer. So first thing I wanna do is let's just go ahead and block out this center section here. So I can take my rectangle tool and I can start to draw rectangles…
