Build up the rainscreen
- [Instructor] Chapter 5-03, Building up the rainscreen. So rainscreen is a system of either panels, timber, anything really that's going to give the wall an extra level of protection. You wouldn't just rely on the membrane. It wouldn't look very good either, to protect it. So the rainscreen is going to act as a sort of first line of defense for the rain. Moisture or water will get through it, but that's the intention. But there's also gaps within it to allow ventilation of the rainscreen so that any moisture can dry off fairly quickly as well. Okay, so that's what rainscreen is, made up of all sorts of different systems, how we're going to apply a virtual timber panel system to this.
