Casting shadows

- [Instructor] In this video we'll add shawdows to the model to make it look more realistic. Begin by opening up the Shadows window. In Windows, Shadows is part of the default tray. It may have to be turned on under the Windows Menu, Default Tray, Shadows, and toggle on Shadow Casting with this button. You can choose your time zone here. You can also set the location of the building site and this will create an accurate sun angle simulation. This is more appropriate for an exterior architectural model, but we can do it here for the kitchen as well. Go to Window, Model Info and choose the Geo-location tab. You can add a location using an Earth model, but I think in this case I'll just set a manual location with my approximate latitude and longitude coordinates. By default, SketchUp models default to Boulder where the program was originally designed. My approximate location is at 49 degrees North, 120 degrees West.
