Changing the style

- [Instructor] Changing the style of your model is a great way to get creative in how you present it. To change the style we'll need to access the style window. On a Mac it's under Window, Styles. On a PC you'll find this in your default tray on the right. First let's take a look at the Select tab. We're going to use the drop down menu to explore a few of these different sets. Your default may show in model or styles, but we're going to look at first the default styles. These are great for modeling. We're going to click around a bit and explore these and you can see it reflect in your 3D model area. If I hover over the thumbnail it's also going to give me the name of these. You may notice these little green clocks right here, those indicate that this style is going to allow you to model more quickly, it's going to not be as creaky or sluggish if you're orbiting, or changing geometry things like that. It's just going to help you be a little bit more efficient to model using these styles. Let's use the drop down menu and look at a few more. Under Sketchy Edges, these are fun for presentation, but they're not super efficient for modeling. I wouldn't choose this style and then try to edit the model in any way. It's just not going to be efficient for modeling. You can also scroll down to the last one and see that there is some fun edges and backgrounds that include watercolor paper and others. I'm going to return back to the default style, and the default style is shaded with textures, so I'm going to edit this style, so click on the Edit tab and we can see that we have a lot of options in here. The first thumbnail will allow us to edit the edges, you can turn on profiles, depth cue, add extensions things like that. The second option will allow us to edit the face color, so when we just draw a cube we see that it has a front color and a back color, we can change those, less applicable when there are textures applied to it. And on the third one we can adjust the background, the sky, and the ground color as well. To adjust the color you can click on the thumbnail and choose a new color. The fourth one will allow you to add a watermark to your 3D model, if you'd like to upload a file, you can do that by clicking on the plus sign and it will watermark your 3D model. And lastly the modeling option will allow you to change some of these colors. This selected option is if we select a group, there is a blue bounding box, we can change the color of that. If I were to lock that group it's going to turn to red, so if you don't want it to be red, if you want it to be a different color, feel free to change the color of that. So these will just adjust accordingly to the action that you are taking. Lastly you can also mix the styles. You can click and drag a few of these options into the corresponding settings that you'd like.
