Demolish with layers

- [Instructor] Let's explore layers in this video. Layers provide a way to control what you see on the screen. In the previous video, you saw how you could select objects and hide them by pressing h, or by choosing Edit, Hide from the menu here. You can also Unhide All from the menu or press u, which is the keyboard shortcut. So hiding and unhiding is a great way to get things out of your way when you're working, temporarily, and then you can press u to unhide them when you're done. The problem with this though is that there's only one buffer where objects go when they are hidden, and you have no granularity over that process. This is where layers come in. Layers provide much more granularity as, in fact, you can create as many layers as you need, and we are going to use them in this kitchen to help us specify the fate of the objects, that is, are they existing objects? Are they going to be demolished, or are they new objects? And this can be controlled with layers. So to get started…
