Detailing with the Section tool
- In this video we're going to detail the lower cabinets over here in the corner of the kitchen using an alternative method that employs the section tool and the follow me tools. Let's begin by double clicking on the original lower cabinet that we made before. Go to the tools menu and choose section plane. Click on the right side of this object to insert a section plane. The section plane cuts through any of the geometry in the active context. That means it cuts through everything in this group. Note, however, that it doesn't cut through anything in the rest of the model. Select the section plane by clicking on it. When you get it, it will turn blue. Then press M and move it in the red direction. What we want to do is find a place where the section plane cuts through the cabinet, but not where we pick up all the detail of the door faces.
