Divide function

- [Instructor] SketchUp has reference points that include endpoints and midpoints that can make it easy to divide edges in half, like this cabinet. But what about when we need to divide edges equally by odd numbers, like this cabinet, into three equal drawers? Well, to do that we can use the divide function. I can right-click on this edge here and choose Divide. As I move my cursor up and down and pause for a moment, I can see a yellow reference box that allows me to see the number of segments and how long each of those segments will be. In this case I'd like three equal segments, so now I can click, or type the number three plus Enter. It looks the same, but now as I select each edge, I can see that they have new endpoints and midpoints. So now I can use these endpoints to draw my three equal drawers. So anytime you need to break an edge into equal parts, let SketchUp do the math for you, and use the right-click Divide…
