Eraser tool
- [Instructor] The eraser tool is a great way to delete geometry entities and guidelines from your model. Activate the eraser tool by clicking the Eraser icon at the top or the letter E. To erase an edge, you can click and release directly on the edge or you can click and drag your cursor across the edge. You'll notice that once you erase an edge on this cube, the face also disappears because the edge was holding in that face. The cube on the right is part of a group, which is explained in another video, but basically has a protective barrier around it. So if I click and drag my eraser tool over that the entire group will be deleted. It's important to note that an eraser does not erase faces. The only way to erase a face is to either delete one or more of the edges that is holding it in or by using the select tool, Space Bar, click on the face, and then either a right click and choose Erase or use your Delete key on your keyboard.
