Finding V-Ray tools in the SketchUp UI

- [Instructor] The very first time that we run SketchUp after running through the V-Ray installation process, that is, we don't need to look too far to discover the most visible set of V-Ray interface controls that are now available to us, because on launch, we will typically be able to access a very obvious set of V-Ray specific toolbars. Now these may start up as free-floating elements, and so will need docking to the SketchUp interface, or they could already be docked to the UI as we see them here. If we don't see them at all on starting up SketchUp, all we need to do is come to the View menu, open up the Toolbars dialogue, and then from down at the bottom of the alphabetically sorted list, enable the four V-Ray options that we see there, so V-Ray for SketchUp, V-Ray Lights, V-Ray Objects and V-Ray Utilities. In fact, let's also set the SketchUp interface to the configuration that I will be using throughout the remainder of the course by turning off the Getting Started toolbar, which is typically the SketchUp default, and enabling the Large Toolset option instead. Now, we can of course dock the V-Ray toolbars to anywhere in the SketchUp interface that we prefer, but I typically like to have them run from left to right, across the very top of the Y, just below the menus. In order to make following along with the steps that we are going to be taking in these courses easy and straight-forward as possible then, you may find setting the Y up in the same configuration beneficial. The beauty of these toolbars, of course, being the fact that they now give us quick and easy access to the tools and controls that we will hopefully be making use of on a daily basis as a render artist. That being the case then, it would probably be good for us in our next exercises to quickly run through what each of the toolbar icons give us in the way of access to V-Ray Next tools.
