Importing a 2D sketch
- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to import a hand drawn sketch that will become the basis of our 3D model of the existing kitchen. I provided a Sketch.jpg in the Ch1 folder. Let's take a look at it. This is a rough sketch I made of my kitchen. I started by sketching in the walls in pen then I added the counter tops and the appliances in pen. And later on I went in with a pencil, I measured everything and I added the dimensions in inches. I wasn't concerned with being overly accurate here because most of this kitchen is going to be demolished to make room for our remodel. I just want to have a rough record of it here that I'm going to start with in SketchUp. So, another thing to notice is that I put the dimensions in with different orientations according to what they're referring to. So 36 inches here refers to this distance and 29 inches refers to this distance. I recommend you do something similar if you decide to sketch your own kitchen. If you have access to the exercise…
