Introduction to Cryptomatte

- [Instructor] Developed by the people at Psyop for their work in animation, visual effects, and live action production, Cryptomatte is an extremely powerful compositing element in V-Ray, that when used in conjunction with the Cryptomatte plugin for NUKE of Fusion, or with the free suite of ProEXR plugins for After Effects, can create and extract very accurate mattes, or masks, in as efficient a manner as possible. Unlike the Multimatte render element, which up to to this point has probably been V-Ray for SketchUp's most powerful matte creation too, Cryptomatte doesn't require any extra setup in the scene at all, so no using object or material IDs and the like. Although, on the downside, it can't be propagated through reflections of refractions in the way that the Multimatte element can, meaning that in certain situations, and for certain objects, the Multimatte element may still be the option we need to go with.
