Modeling the existing kitchen
- [Voiceover] We're going to build a massing model of the existing kitchen in this video. Open the Kitchen 1.skp file. Go to the Camera menu and choose Perspective or press J to toggle between Parallel and Perspective. Parallel Projection is better for a top view when you're drawing in the plan, but once you move into 3D space, Perspective is more natural because objects that are further away get smaller, just like the way that our eyes work. So let's navigate in 3D space so that we can see the place where the kitchen is going to go here in the model and the sketch at the same time. About like this. Press L to use the line tool. Start drawing from the corner of the wall and draw over in the Green direction a line that is eight inches long, so type 8 Enter to account for this offset in the sketch. Then move over in the Red direction and type 25 to account for the counter depth. Move over in the Green direction and type 12 Enter, and then 24 Enter, and 34 Enter. And then draw a line…
