Moving groups and components easily and smoothly
- [Instructor] A common occurrence when moving groups and components, like this sofa, throughout your model is for it to sink below the floor like this. And this can be frustrating as you figure out how to get this back above the floor level. I'm going to go ahead and undo it, Edit, Undo Move. This is happening because I clicked on the middle of the sofa when I started to move it. The sofa will not move below the click point, so it's important to be strategic about where I'm clicking. I can choose the bottom of the sofa to move it around, and it makes it more difficult for it to sink below the floor surface. Another option would be to do a relative move, which is pre-selecting the sofa. So I'm going to hit my Spacebar for the Select tool, and then click on the sofa. Now when I activate my Move tool, the letter M, and click on the floor, I can use the floor as a track for moving the sofa, side to side or front to back. It's a…
