Setting up the template

- [Instructor] Chapter 1_01, we're going to set up our template. So regardless of whether using imperial or metric to start off with, and regardless of what default template you've loaded, we will change the settings on this, and we will make sure that it's ready to go for our purposes. First thing we can do is go to the window menu using a Mac or Windows software, then it's the same location. Go down to Model Info, and then to Units, and make sure we are on Decimal. Okay, so architectural, engineering, and fractional. Decimals is what we want. We want millimeters, as you can have decimal inches, and then make sure the Precision is set to 0.0. Enable length snapping. We'll keep that set, but we'll change this to 0.1. Then we can close this down. So that's that one set. Then we can go over to the styles. Notice I've got the default architectural style here. I'm going to change it to this shaded one. And that's the fast style, so we can see that is a fast modeling style there, and that gets rid of the background. We don't want any, necessarily, background. We might further down the line want to edit it so we can see the profiles, but for now we don't need to worry about that. We can also get rid of the default component that gets loaded with the architectural style template, and then if we go to components and click on the details button we can purge unused. That means that everything's cleared out from this. Okay, so if you want then to save this for future reference, then File, Save as Template, and give it a name, and you can also make sure it's the default template for future use. I'll leave mine blank 'cause I've already got one set up, and I'll close that down. In the next exercise we look at loading the components.
