Splitting toposurface and applying materials
- [Narrator] In the last exercise, we learned how to create a Revit toposurface from a sketch-up mesh. In this lesson, chapter 03-04, we're going to be splitting the toposurface into two parts, the sea and the sand, and it'll also be applying relevant materials to both of those parts. So to split the toposurface in two, we use this split surface option. This is on the Massing and Site tab, and it's under the Modify the Site. Now always much better to be in an orthographic view. So Site view, then I'll make sure I've got my wire frame turned on, because then I can clearly see this line. So split surface. Then I select the surface, so just hover over the edge. And that's selected. And then I can either draw the lines in with the line tool. That's going to be following these things. It doesn't necessarily snap to all the points. Or I can use pick lines, which is probably in this case the easiest. It doesn't really matter one way or the other. You can draw your own different line maybe…
