Standard camera views
- [Instructor] Sometimes it is helpful to align the view of our 3D model so that the view is directly aligned with each axis. These are called standard camera views. And they can be found at the top dropdown menu Camera, Standard Views. As I click through these you can see the camera change and it will give us an indication of what we are viewing in the upper left hand corner. The options are Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Left, Right, and an Isometric view. On a Mac there are also shortcuts for these which are Command + one through seven, and on a PC there are no preset shortcuts for standard camera views. These views are helpful for when we need to create orthographic drawings of our model because they are perfectly aligned with each axis. We can change from perspective to parallel projection under Camera, to get an elevation view of our model. This view isn't as helpful when we begin orbiting around our 3D model, to continue modeling. And as you can see they become a bit distorted. So we will need to return to perspective. Camera, Perspective, when we continue viewing our model in 3D.
