Using the Car Paint material
- Let's take a look next at a V-Ray material that has been designed to deal with a very specific hard surface texturing task, namely, recreating the complex color and reflectivity properties found in both modern and older vehicle finishes. The material we are talking about, of course, is the Car Paint shader. To begin working with this specialized option, let's add a new Car Paint material to the list. And then, after drilling down to the surface level of our ShaderBall geometry in the viewport, apply the material to it. After which, we can go ahead and take a render. Which, straight out of the box, and with no further help from us at all, produces a highly reflective, showroom quality vehicle finish on the geometry.
