- [Narrator] What we want to do in this exercise is take a look at a V-Ray tool that can be used to create some simple and yet very nice looking render time effects such as fur, hair, grass. And in this instance, carpeting as we look to create a simple rug effect on the geometry that we have sitting in the view. To apply V-Ray fur, all we need to do is select a compatible mesh in the scene, which I will rug geometry is and then either come to the very objects toolbar, and use the V-Ray fur burton that is now enabled, remembering of course, that this will remain inactive until we select a piece of geometry, or we can apply the fur effect through the extensions menu either way is fine. What V-Ray will do then is generate a procedural render time fur effect farrows. Meaning of course, that the fur geometry itself isn't present in the scene.
