Using .vrmats
- [Instructor] Another material option that we can work with in V-Ray for SketchUp would be the VR mat or Vismat format as it has previously been referred to in V-Ray for SketchUp. Indeed, the fact that this material type has been around for quite some time in SketchUp and has in more recent times been added to V-Ray in other applications such as 3DS Max means that there is already quite a collection of user-created content available online. A quick search for either Vismat or Vrmats in our search engine of choice should turn up quite a number of resources such as those found at the vismats.com website. To show how this material works, let's apply an already created vismat material to our shade ball geometry by clicking on the Import Asset button found at the bottom of the editing UI.
