Basics for using a Mac interface
- [Instructor] Let's take a look at the Macintosh interface for SketchUp. On top, we have some dropdown menu options. Using these dropdown menus is a lot like the majority of other programs on a computer. Click on the title and more options become available. The SketchUp menu is specific to Mac and the most important option here is the Preferences window. The File menu is again very similar to other interfaces. This is where we open, save and import/export files. The edit menu carries the all-important Undo function, as well as Copy, Paste and more. The View menu contains a list of tool palettes that we'll be referring to in other videos. This top one, Large Tool Set, is a popular one but we'll return to it in the future. The Draw menu has a lot of tools that we need to draw but it's rare to use the dropdown menu to reach these as we generally will use icons seen below or keyboard shortcuts for more efficient modeling.…
